According to McKinsey & Company’s 2018 article, 80% of companies have attempted digital transformation, but a whopping 70% of such efforts have failed. These failures almost invariably manifest themselves as missed schedules, missed budgets, and missed outcomes, and so it is only fair that both purveyors and providers focus heavily on estimation. An organization's collective ability to estimate whether they can meet the target around a desired business outcome by a certain time using the resources and people that they have at their disposal, determines whether they will meet or miss their commitment of digital transformation.
